Medical Library Research Guide

ACCESS ISSUES---READ THIS FIRST!

IMPORTANT FACTS

  • Indiana University Ruth Lilly Medical Library resources are NOT the same as IU Health hospital library resources. Indiana University has a much larger collection of journals, ebooks, databases, etc.
  • On-campus facilities for Indiana University include the library and all classrooms, also office and research buildings on campus.
  • Off-campus means anywhere else, including all the hospitals. When off-campus you must either have a VPN installed on your laptop or other device, OR go to the Medical Library homepage, click on any popular resource and then authenticate with a Indiana University login and password when requested.  Go here for information: VPN & Off-Campus Access
  • Even when products appear the same at both Indiana University and IU Health, as for example, Ovid Medline, the Ruth Lilly Medical Library version links to many, many more full text journals.
  • Check out our Mobile Resources! The list includes both paid and free apps.
  • How about 3D Printing? The library owns several printers that are available for student and faculty use.
