Research Impact Challenge

Day 5: Create, review and update MyNCBI profile

Welcome to day 5 of the Research Impact Challenge. Today we are going to focus on using MyNCBI.MyNCBI dashboard

The MyNCBI tool is available on the same platform for searching PubMed, and allows you to save PubMed searches, save specific citations from PubMed and share that list with others (called a “collection”), set delegates for your account, manage NIH Public Access Policy compliance, and create your NIH Biosketch with SciENcv.

Challenge:
  • Log in to MyNCBI webpage and set up an account..

  • Run a search in PubMed on your topic of interest (or on yourself), and save that search in MyNCBI. Search for your articles in PubMed, then add them to your MyBibliography section of MyNCBI.

BONUS CHALLENGE:
  • If you are NIH-funded and are using SciENcv, follow these instructions to tie ORCID with your SciENcv account and “pull in” articles to your MyBibliography. (See tutorial: Linking an ORCID Account to an NCBI Account)

After finishing the 5-day challenge, take one minute to complete this brief survey to receive a swag bag (for IU School of Medicine affiliates).
