Start: Find readable magazine articles for a topic overview

These sources are useful to find magazine articles for a short, readable topic overview and to find aspects of a topic to consider pursing in more depth, and some specialized, peer-reviewed journal articles. Try several; if you can't find sufficient relevant information, consider doing additional searching using more specialized databases listed in the second content box.

Locate harder-to-find articles

These sources are useful to find more specialized, in-depth journal articles and conference papers. Recently published conference papers (proceedings) can provide very recent content on a specialized topic. Professional society resources such as IEEE, ACM etc. are credible sources of needed technical information, including specialized, interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary topics.
