Academic Leadership Academy Resources: Home

Department Chairs, Division Heads, Assistant Chairs, Program Directors, and Coordinators serve as front-line leaders within their academic disciplines. They supervise both full- and part-time faculty and staff, work with students, and engage with outside entities on behalf of their departments and institutions. Yet often, this group receives little leadership development training. As our institutions increasingly focus on raising student success measures like retention and completion rates, it is critical that leaders receive the training and support they need to serve not only as administrators, but also as agents for student success.

Ivy Tech Columbus and IUPUC are hosting a joint leadership academy in the summer of 2022. The goal of this Academic Leadership Academy is to build student success champions and increase the capacity for our leaders to support student success work and faculty development within their own programs.  This presents a unique opportunity to develop new skills and tools and a supportive network of peers and mentors across the Columbus AirPark Campus.
