Medical Library Research Guide

ENDNOTE

EndNote

EndNote is provided by Indiana University to faculty, students and staff. Log into IUware, select Office Tools, then EndNote 7. The Medical Library offers a regularly scheduled series of classes on EndNote. You can also find user's manuals and contact information on the Medical Library EndNote guide.

Need to use EndNote on a tablet, smartphone or other device? IUanyWare is a tool that allows you to use web browser or mobile app to run certain IU-licensed software applications without having to install them on your computer or mobile device.

Adding Full Text Articles to Your EndNote Library

Once you have your references exported into EndNote it will automatically search for PDFs of those references and attach each PDF to its reference. But before you do that follow these directions first to make sure that EndNote is searching for the Ruth Lilly Medical Library's paid resources and not just free articles.

  • First, create an EndNote library or open up an existing library before you follow these instructions.

  • Click on Edit, Preferences, and Find Full Text; in the Open URL Path paste: http://rx8kl6yf4x.search.serialssolutions.com  and click Ok.

  • Select the references for which you want to add PDFs and use the References --Find Full Text command. EndNote will locate about 50%-60% of the total number of references.

  • Ask a librarian about locating PDFs that do not appear right away after following these directions.
